This charming sardine dish adds a witty touch of fun to your home – these endearing and colourful little fish are sure to raise a smile among your guests! This sardine design is exclusive to AllÓRA.
This dish is handcrafted using the world-famous glass from the island of Murano, Venice. Glass from Murano is celebrated for its irregular surface, which magnifies the light’s refractions.
To create this beautiful form, Vetrofuso by Daniela Poletti soften glass over a flame before working it into shape using tweezers and tools. They then use the Venetian Murano a lume technique – blowing heated coloured glass into the clear glass to create details of unusual precision. By using the a lume technique, the artisan also gives this glass dish a lighter, more refined feel in the hand.
These ancient glass-fusing techniques, coupled with the artisan’s modern tastes and creativity, create a perfect synthesis of the traditional and the contemporary, the art and the craft, the idea and the technique.
Variations in finish or appearance are not considered imperfections, but are the mark of a unique handmade item.
