Creating a rustic yet modern feel in your home is easy with our Bumblebee Primrose vintage hemp linen towel in blue inspired by the luscious meadows of Italy and reminiscent of a jewel set into a charming bracelet from bygone times. Hand-printed by our artisans at the esteemed Stamperia Bertozzi house using traditional hand-carved wooden blocks, the stylish towel can be used either in the kitchen or as an addition to your bathroom.
The highly skilled craftspeople at Bertozzi have used their very own hand-mixed, natural dyes to create the rich colours featured on our vintage hemp linen towel. The organic fabric used to craft this unique linen towel was woven on traditional shuttle looms in the 1940s by master weavers. The antique fabric, durable, absorbent and sustainable, is a true celebration of heritage and tradition, a combination of the classic with the contemporary resulting in a linen towel of supreme quality, style and design.
Since 1920, the Bertozzi family have been creating the most wonderful hand-printed and hand-painted fabrics. Using traditional techniques, these master craftsmen hand-carve blocks of pear wood to produce the stamps they use to print their own designs onto the fabric. The rich and vibrant colours they create come from closely guarded family recipes that are passed from generation to generation.
Variations in finish or appearance are not considered imperfections, but are the mark of a unique handmade item.
