How are Our Handmade Tea Towels Made?
How They're Crafted
Produced by two of Italy’s most respected linen houses: Stamperia Bertozzi and Tessitura Pardi.<.p>
These handmade kitchen towels are stylish and high quality. Each artisan brings their own heritage and approach to the design.<.p>
Tessitura Pardi weaves its fabrics on traditional shuttle looms. Stamperia Bertozzi creates pieces that are hand-painted, hand-printed, or a mix of both methods.
Sourcing Materials
We use high-quality linen fabric in every piece. The range includes bold colours such as blue, red, and green, as well as softer tones like white, grey, black, and beige.
Designs feature natural motifs and simple patterns, including stripes and florals, bringing a modern Italian feel into your home.
Our collection combines strong materials with skilled craftsmanship. The result is tea towels that are both durable and beautiful for daily use.
Unique Designs
Our tea towels come in a wide range of colours and designs. Each one is unique and works well in any kitchen.
They make thoughtful and affordable gifts for friends, family, or colleagues. They are also an elegant addition to your own home.
Every dining experience starts in the kitchen. While guests gather elsewhere, much of your time is spent preparing food. Your kitchen should feel just as refined.
Our Italian designs help brighten the space. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere that carries through to your guests.
These tea towels are not only decorative. They are also highly practical. The linen fabric is ideal for drying dishes, polishing cutlery, and cleaning glassware. It leaves surfaces clear and streak-free.
What fabric is best for tea towels?
When choosing a luxury tea towel, you should not have to choose between style and function. Our range includes 100% organic crumpled linen towels, as well as 50% linen and 50% cotton blends.
At AllÓRA, we believe linen is one of the most effective natural materials. It is highly absorbent, strong, and durable. The long fibres make it ideal for cleaning and drying dishes.
Linen also improves with use. The more you wash and use it, the better it performs.
Linen tea towels are lint-free, which makes them perfect for drying glassware. They leave no streaks or fluff behind.
Not only are linen tea towels naturally sustainable and environmentally friendly, their antibacterial qualities allow them to stay fresher for longer.
However, as cotton is also an impressive natural material, offering 50/50 blends in some of our tea towels linen allows us to provide these elegant designs to those who prefer cotton, at a more accessible price point.
FAQ: Linen Tea Towels
How do you frame a linen tea towel?
To frame a linen tea towel, start by gently ironing it with a low heat setting to remove any creases. Choose a frame with a mat or glass that fits the towel's dimensions. Use acid-free backing and pins or sewing tape to secure the towel without damaging the fabric. Avoid adhesives that might stain over time. Framed towels work well as kitchen art or gifts.
How do you wash linen tea towels?
Wash linen tea towels in cold or warm water using a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners, which can weaken the fibres and affect absorbency. Either line-dry or tumble dry on low, then remove while still slightly damp to avoid wrinkles. Iron if needed on the reverse side using a medium heat setting.
Are cotton or linen tea towels better?
Linen towels dry faster, are more absorbent, and leave no lint behind, which makes them ideal for glassware. Cotton towels are softer to the touch and can be better for everyday spills. A 50/50 cotton-linen blend offers a balance between softness and performance. It comes down to your kitchen needs and personal preference.
How do you soften linen tea towels?
Linen naturally softens over time with use and washing. For faster results, soak the towel in a mix of warm water and white vinegar before washing. Avoid fabric softeners and dryer sheets, as these can coat the fibres. Tumble drying on low with wool dryer balls can also help break in new linen.
