When creating this vintage hemp linen cushion, the Bertozzi craftspeople have taken great care not to stray from the original design, being sure to embellish the floral motifs all over the hemp linen fabric as dictated by the traditional layout.

A wonderfully inviting green dye has been used to create the rose motifs that sprawl across the entirety of the cushion’s exterior, the recipe for which is one of the Bertozzi family’s generations-long, best kept secrets. In keeping with traditions, the same shade features on this cushion cover as can be seen on the original.

Such intricate patterns have been applied to the vintage hemp fabric using the process of block-printing with hand-carved blocks of pear wood.
