This hand-painted linen tablecloth from the Fleure Sauvage range is a real treasure. Created using a heritage pattern from the 1970s, the wood block used is just one of many from the famous Bertozzi archive. By mixing up the painting and printing techniques, our craftsmen have made the design look very fresh, contemporary and appealing. Coming in a range of colours, they make a stunning addition to any room.
Pure hand-woven linen
Each of the Fleure Sauvage tablecloths is made from pure hand-woven linen, produced on a traditional loom. The Bertozzi heritage hand-carved blocks are then used to add stunning colours using natural mineral and vegetable dyes. The patterns in each block vary, and the Fleure Sauvage one is of a wild flower, woven into an intriguing and beautiful arrangement. Even the colours are taken from nature, using rich greens and other verdant hues.
Archive hand-carved wooden blocks
Our linen makers are dedicated artisans, running small family businesses in order to bring to life unique products that cannot be found elsewhere outside of the Italian region. Even the threads used are of the utmost quality, coming together to form a tablecloth that will be passed on through the family for generations to come. Because the Bertozzi products are naturally produced, they are extremely durable and very absorbent. No matter how many times you wash them, the colours will remain bright. The woodblock patterns are set onto the fabric using a high temperature which makes them permanent. Imagine the work undertaken by craftsmen all those years ago when they carved these archive woodblocks; now they are being brought back to life, used to carefully add stamps of colour to what is an amazing tablecloth.
